Biogas from Poultry farms

As a result of the increasing world population and rapidly developing technology, new sources of energy have been started as a result of the inadequacy of existing energy resources to meet the need, and as a result of these researches, new technologies have been developed in order to obtain new and different sources of energy and to better evaluate the available resources. One of them, biogas technology, is at the forefront of renewable energy production. Revgreen Pakistan is the leading company of biogas plant installation which has been providing its services across the country since 2009.

In the production of biogas, much organic waste of vegetable and animal origin are used as raw material. One of the most important wastes of animal origin is poultry wastes that occur in poultry farms and constitute 25-30% of total animal wastes. Waste from poultry, feces, litter, feed, dead chicks, broken eggs, and feathers are the most important place among these waste is fertilizer.
These animal wastes, which cause significant environmental problems, are suitable raw materials for biogas production. Biogas is a flammable gas that is produced as a result of the chemical decomposition of organic wastes in anaerobic bacteria at a temperature of 20-35 ° C in a period of 40-100 days. The content consists of 55-75% methane, 24-44% carbon dioxide and at least 1%. In addition to the use of biogas in electricity generation, heating, transportation, and fuel cells, there are many areas of application such as cost reduction by joining natural gas.

The production of biogas from poultry wastes will contribute to meet the increasing energy need, while on the other hand it will provide input to the economy and will play an active role in the protection of the natural balance.
